2020 marks the 75th anniversary for privately-owned lighting company Searchlight Electric, and it has big plans for January Furniture Show. At the show, 19-22 January, the company will showcase over 100 new products from its new 75th Year Collection – as well as key products from its main collection – as it celebrates 75 years since the business was founded, in 1945, by Sir Sidney Hamburger.
The Manchester company, whose decorative lighting products are renowned throughout the U.K. and Europe, is no stranger to the NEC show. In fact, says sales director Morris Hamburger, it has been attending the show “for as long as there has been a lighting exhibition,” going back decades to when predecessor events took place at Olympia, London.
Visitors to January Furniture Show are in for a treat; following success at the 2019 show, Searchlight have redesigned and elevated their stand to be even more striking. The launch of the 75th Year Collection means that 75% of product on the stand will be new. The company’s new products will continue to reflect the increased take-up of LED lighting which “continues to grow at a rapid rate,” in the U.K. market. The 75th Year Collection also features new crystal decorative pendants for which Searchlight is renowned.
In addition, the Projects Collection will form part of the stand layout with its own dedicated section, says Mr Hamburger, allowing contract buyers to easily find what they are looking for. “The Projects Range contains solutions for anywhere where people eat, sleep or drink,” he says.
Searchlight’s success at the show will be easy to gauge, says Mr Hamburger. It is measured not only by orders taken, but on customer response to the new collection. “January Furniture Show gives us the opportunity to meet our customers face-to-face, and get important feedback on our new products”. Searchlight’s continued presence at the NEC tells you everything you need to know, not just about the past effectiveness of the show, but of what it expects to deliver in 2020.
